For the 16th entry of the label, we are happy to present you Bucanier & Comodore and their “Lugubre” EP.
Behind these two mysterious names are Greenn. and Maurice Giovannini, delivering surrealistic modular minimal in the rules of the art.
There is something magical with the 4 pieces of the EP, reminiscent of Fantasia, with eerie tones and dreamy atmospheres at times. The common denominator of the work resides in stripped-down yet complex drum programming and processed vocals that guides you through this epic story.
The jazzy feel is omnipresent as well, reinforced with subtle organic details, and grand piano granular madness on the third track “Lolita”.
This EP is a minimal tour de force, delivering the perfect dose of processing magic on every part of the composition, along with a delicious stroke of serendipity.
