Amour Bienveillant

“Amour bienveillant” emerges in a mysterious atmosphere with organic textures, one discerns distant dialogues accompanied by vaporous jazz tones, structured by a discreet and licked rhythm that builds up gradually. A feeling of security emanates then, reminding us that we are in the precise and jazzy universe of Minimadelic Records.
The narration and the uncompromising mastery of the dub ambiance plunge us into an ethereal, colourful, and resolutely minimalist imaginary world. We find ourselves face to face with ourselves, in a surrealist painting from which Luminescu’s characteristic background work emerges serendipitously. Silence is used in an intelligent way, bridging the culminating point of the piece, where the bodies go into trance, into dance; where the light irrevocably emerges.

Midsummer Night’s Spleen

The piece “Midsummer Night’s Spleen”—eponymous to this EP—is an authentic and sensitive ode to the world of the night, precisely that of a peculiar neighborhood in Montreal.
We enter directly into a concrète structure, magnified by a deep bass line, which is catchy and constitutive of the producer’s sound signature. Completed by a percussive and recreational sequence, the low frequency spectrum here reminds us of contemporary disco colours. Very quickly, this ambiance is supplanted by a mini-jazz emanation, ingeniously placed at the centre of the work. The extremely simple rhythmic is here only a pretext to give way to textural details meticulously woven into the structure, giving rise to a result that is both simple and complex, which can be listened to at home as well as danced on the floor.

Continue to produce this excellent music, playful, sensitive, and powerful; definitely!
The essence of the closing piece is based on those sweet, warm and adventurous vocals, distilled from Luminescu’s insatiable (and so much the better!) desire: to make you groove and give you a smile! As in a modern-day western à la Quentin Tarantino, this piece confirms the mastery and imagination of the creator! A fun and effective piece, very musical and that will delight dancefloor fans and music lovers! A well-thought-out arrangement, an eloquent rhythm, vocals that transport: these are the key ingredients of an excellent musical dessert. Once again, Luminescu touches in the right place, where the body is moved and exalted.

From the very first seconds, CleS transports us into his dreamlike universe, between melancholy and mystery. The chord progression is majestic, accentuated by an angelic harp arpeggio in dialogue with the guided meditation. The sound design is rich and deep with a meticulous attention to detail, all supported by a sharp drum programming that confirms the artist's mastery behind his instrument.
This high level interpretation sublimates the original piece while giving it a mature character and a delicate acoustic colour.
